Camps and Programs

Stuff-2-Do Day Camp

Wells Branch MUD offers its Stuff-2-Do Summer Day Camp in weekly sessions for children kindergarten through 5th grade. Your child’s appropriate camp will be determined by the grade they completed in the fall.

Our camp staff engages your child in creative activities indoors and out based on themed-weeks throughout the summer. Our long standing tradition has been to create a safe, interactive, and physically active day camp for children to meet new friends and participate in new out-of-the box activities.

Registration Dates:

April 22 - WB Residents with a Current Recreation Tag (You must pay your water bill to WBMUD)
April 29 - All Residents and Recreation Tag members (resident and non-resident)
May 1 - Open Enrollment (Open to all residents and non-residents)

Fees:

$85/wk: In-District w/Recreation Tag
$90/wk: Out-of-Distrcit w/Recreation Tag
$95/wk: In-District No Tag
$100/wk: Out-of-District No Tag

*All payments are due in full the day of registration for all weeks requested. If you choose our credit card auto draft option then you will only be required to pay a $20 deposit per any requested weeks. Your card will then be drafted 2 weeks before the week you are signed up for.

Teen Basketball Clinics

Location: WB Recreation Center Gym
Days: Mondays and Wednesdays
Time: 12:00 - 3:00pm
 Ages: 10-16

Fees: $40

The clinic is designed to hone your skills using drills, games and scrimmages indoors under the supervision of a coach. You’re guaranteed to dribble away a better player!

 

Volleyball Clinic

Fees: $40

Open to all levels, this unique and professionally run clinic will teach fundamentals of playing indoor and sand volleyball. Depending on the skill level, we will teach everything from simple ball handling (passing and setting) to more advanced skills (hitting, serving, defense, offense). We will also work on conditioning and overall physique. Volleyball is a sport in which your child learns lessons of sportsmanship, communication and teamwork. Enroll soon!

Private Swim Lessons

When: As scheduled with instructor during hours of operation
Where: Willow Bend Pool or Katherine Fliescher Pool
Fee: $20 for a single 30-min session
$45 for 3 30 minute sessions

Spring Swim Lessons

The Toddler (T) class is for children aged 12 months to less than 3 years. The class introduces safety around the pool and beginning water skills in a social environment where the parent and child interact with each other and with other participants in the class. Children can learn skills such as breath holding, blowing bubbles, natural propulsion and safety.

The Preschool Beginner (PB) class is for children 3‐5 years that have little or no water skills and need a lot of assistance.
This level focuses on floating and beginning arm movements. Safety skills are introduced. The suggested syllabus for the above classes: Water adjustment, breath control (bubble blowing, holding breath underwater), water entry (jump in, assisted to unassisted), water exit (assisted to unassisted), retrieve underwater objects with support, front float and glide to recovery with support, front kick with flotation support, safety skills (change direction, treading water).

Spring classes are 30 minutes, Monday – Thursday with Friday as a makeup if needed. If a class has insufficient enrollment (less than 3 participants), the MUD reserves the right to cancel the class and a full refund will be given or classes may be combined. In the event of thunder and lightning, out of water safety activities will be held. If a second bad weather day occurs, time may be added to remaining days or the class will be reassigned for Friday. 

In‐district cost will be $20/per session per child. Out of district cost will be $30/per session per child. 

There are no family discounts. Session dates and times are as follows:

Art Mini Camps

Art Enrichment Summer Mini-Camps 2013

Exploring and Integrating art ideas with projects and fun

Your child is invited to participate in a special art program to be held this summer in Wells Branch.  A variety of art activities are planned for each themed session.  Each week has its own theme. Enroll for one or several. Registration begins April 1, 2013.

American Red Cross Babysitting Training Course

This course gives youth ages 11 to 15 years old the knowledge and confidence to care for infants and school-age children. Combining video, activities, hands-on skills training and discussion for a complete learning experience, Babysitter’s Training teaches youth how to:

  • Respond to emergencies and illnesses with first aid, rescue breathing and other appropriate care
  • Make decisions under pressure
  • Communicate with parents to learn household rules
  • Recognize safety and hygiene issues
  • Manage young children
  • Feed, diaper and care for infants
  • Start their babysitting business

This 5 hour couse is held at the Recreation Center.

American Red Cross First Aid / CPR / AED

Training meets OSHA Guidelines for First Aid Programs and combines lecture, interactive video demonstrations featuring emergency scenarios that are likely to occur in a variety of environments and hands-on training to teach participants lifesaving skills. Register at the Wells Branch Recreation Center.

We offer this 5 hour course a few times during the year.
