Homestead Tours

The Homestead is available for tours by schools, groups and residents. The tours focus on pioneer life in the mid to late 1800s. Tours are geared towards kindergarten children through adults. Some tours require a minimum number of participants. Tours are conducted September through December and March through May. To book your tour, call 251-9814.

Monthly Fee In-District: $1.50 per person
Monthly Fee Out-Of-District: $1.50 per person


Tennis Program

Little Beginners –ages 4-6, very basic tennis.

Beginners –No experience needed this level will learn basic mid-court volleys and groundstrokes.

Advanced Beginners- Has mastered the Beginner class, midcourt volleys and groundstrokes.  Will work on full court groundstrokes and learn the scoring system.

Fees for tennis classes are as follows:

Monthly in-district fee = $30 for any combination of 10 classes on a multi-class card

Monthly out-of-district fee = $50 for any combination of 10 classes on a multi-class card

Guard Start program

Learn what it takes to become an American Red Cross Lifeguard. This course is designed for youth ages 11 - 14 who are interested in becoming lifeguards. It provides an opportunity for participants to experience many facets of day to day lifeguard responsibilities. The course follows the American Red Cross "Guard Start" program guidelines. The fees include the cost of the books and materials.

Guard Start Classes are offered 9:30am -10:20am June 11-22, June 25-July 6 and August 6 -17 at Katherine Fliescher Pool. 

In-district fee: $50.00                    Class minimum = 6        

Out-of District fee: $65.00           Class maximum = 10

 

Babysitting Certification Class

Get certified as a babysitter and become more marketable in your community. This program will teach how to handle an emergency situation, rescue breathing, holding and feeding infants, how to interview potential clients, and age-appropriate activities. Participants that successfully complete this program will receive a certificate from the American Red Cross. For ages 11-16 years. Participants will need to bring a bag lunch.


Monthly In-State Fees: $30 (1-day class)
Monthly Out-Of-State Fees: $30 (1-day class)


Adult Basketball 18 & Over Mondays from 7-10 pm at Rec Center Purchase a rec tag or purchase a daily pass
Youth Basketball  17 & Under Tuesdays & Fridays from 5-7 pm at Rec Center Purchase a rec tag or purchase a daily pass
Volleyball Night Thursdays from 7-10 pm at Rec Center Purchase a rec tag or purchase a daily pass
Badminton Sundays 2-6 pm Purchase a rec tag or purchase a daily pass


Stuff-2-Do Day Camp

Wells Branch MUD will again offer its Stuff 2-Do Summer Day Camp in weekly sessions in 2010 for children kindergarten through 5th grade. Your child’s appropriate camp will be determined by the grade they completed.

Our camp staff engages your child in creative activities indoors and out based on themed-weeks throughout the summer. Our long standing tradition has been to create a safe, interactive, and physically active day camp for children to meet new friends and participate in new out-of-the box activities.  

Registration for Wells Branch residents with recreation tags will begin Monday, April 26. Residents without rec. tags may start registration Monday, May 3, and open enrollment for all others begins Thursday, May 6. Registration continues until the camps are full. Register at the recreation center at 3000 Shoreline.

Monday – Friday
7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
June 7th – August 20th (there will be no camp June 28rd – July 2nd)

Startlings        (Kinder – 2nd grades): Community Center: 2106 Klattenhoff Dr.
Juniors            (3rd – 5th grades): Recreation Center: 3000 Shoreline Dr.

Teen Basketball Clinics

The clinic is designed to hone your skills using drills, games, and scrimmages indoors under the supervision of a coach. You’re guaranteed to dribble away a better player!  

Location: WB Recreation Center Gym

Session #1 June 7th – June 25th                       
Session #2 July 5th – July 23rd

Days: Mon., Wed., Fri. 
Time: 2-4 p.m.                                                 
Ages: 11-15
